Job Description
Surgical Associates offers general surgery services that deal with abdominal organs, soft tissue masses and traumatic injuries. Our General Surgeon is always on call at Springfield Hospital for urgent/emergent surgery such as appendectomy, surgery to relieve bowel obstruction or repair of complex lacerations. Some commonly performed surgical procedures include:
- Colonoscopy
- Upper GI Endoscopy
- Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder)
- Soft Tissue Mass Excision (Lipomas, cysts)
- Open and Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair
- Open and Laparoscopic Umbilical Hernia Repair
- Open and Laparoscopic Incisional Hernia Repair
- Excisional Biopsies
- Hemorrhoid Procedures
- Oncologic Surgery for Breast or Colon Cancer
- Antireflux Surgery
- Skin Grafting
Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD/DURING INTERVIEW WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).
Travelers may not take all holidays off. MUST work TWO blocks (if scheduled/needed):
Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and weekend after
Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and weekend after
New Year Eve through New Year Day and weekend after
Non-Billable Orientation: 0hrs
OT: NO MULTIPLIER. OT paid at flat hourly rate
Holiday, Call-Back multipliers: 1.25%

Requirement description :
- 2+ years of current OR experience in a hospital setting - {Required}
- Circulator w/ strong Ortho experience [Required]
- 3 months travel (or more) [REQUIRED]
- Bachelor Degree - [Preferred]
- Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment
- Traveler perm address must be included in profile
- Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer/at interview. Please obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer

Weekend Requirements : 1 weekend per month - Friday to Monday/Holidays required if needed
On Call Requirements : Call 10 shifts per month including 1 weekend (Friday/Saturday and Sunday 24hr shifts) and rotating holidays. Call starts at 3:30pm until 7am the next day. Monday through Thursday.
