Position Overview

Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking a Sheet Metal Helper to support experienced commercial HVAC mechanics on the Charlotte ISD project in Charlotte, Texas.

San Antonio-area applicants are encouraged to apply. Transportation from the San Antonio area to the Charlotte job site will be provided, with employees riding to and from the project with the crew. You do not need to live in Charlotte to be considered.

This is a hands-on position assisting with commercial duct installation, material preparation, assembly, and general installation support. Construction or HVAC experience is preferred, but we are primarily looking for someone dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in an active commercial construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Stage, carry, and organize ductwork, fittings, tools, and hardware
• Assist mechanics with commercial HVAC duct installation
• Help measure, cut, assemble, hang, and seal duct components
• Hold, position, and secure materials during installation
• Assist with rectangular and spiral ductwork
• Operate basic hand and power tools after proper training and authorization
• Keep materials and work areas clean and organized
• Protect finished work from damage
• Follow instructions from Sheet Metal Mechanics and site supervision
• Follow PPE and all project safety requirements

Requirements

• Construction, HVAC, or sheet-metal experience preferred
• Basic familiarity with hand and power tools preferred
• Ability to lift, carry, and position construction materials
• Ability to work from ladders or lifts when trained and authorized
• Ability to follow instructions and work productively with the crew
• Dependable attendance and ability to report to the designated San Antonio-area crew pickup location or directly to the Charlotte job site
• Ability to meet project safety and onboarding requirements

Compensation & Benefits

• $16.00–$22.00/hour DOE
• Full-Time W-2 Assignment
• Weekly Pay
• Transportation Available from the San Antonio Area to the Charlotte Job Site
