Job Description

Giffin & Crane's Estimating/Preconstruction Management team leads new projects from the initial idea to the start of construction. Starting with the initial client meetings, our estimators work closely with clients, consultants, G&C principals, and all other key players to develop projects through the preconstruction phase for a successful handoff to the build team. 

Key duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Work with Giffin & Crane's estimating team to develop projects from initial client meetings to start of construction
• Compile various levels of preliminary estimates throughout development leading to detailed and accurate construction Scope of Work estimates.
• Perform detailed takeoffs and unit cost analysis
• Develop detailed and coordinated subcontractor scope outlines
• Coordinate field site visits with subcontractors, suppliers, and supervisors
• Coordinate meetings with clients and consultants
• Read and interpret plans, develop RFI's
• Analyze, compare, and evaluate subcontractor bids
• Build detailed construction schedules using Microsoft Project
• Analyze, maintain, and track historical cost data from previously completed projects
• Manage all documents, drawings, and communications throughout preconstruction phase using Procore

Requirements:

• Strong written communication skills
• Proficient in Procore
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
• Proficient in Microsoft Project
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
• Vehicle and valid driver's license are required
• Background check will be required
